Advising is one of the most important services provided by our
department. The purpose of advising is to ensure you will be successful in
completing your degree program and, at the same, derive the best education
value from your experience at FIU.
Advising involves academic planning, degree requirements,
course prerequisites, and selection of an academic advisor. Your academic
advisor also helps with administrative procedures such as registration.
